sassy girl

it's funny how some pigtails make her look so much older. i still tell people that she's 1, though. it keeps the comments down.


today, though, lia heard the cat outside. she didn't see her, she just heard her. lia signed 'kitty' and made her way to the door. there she patted the door, tried to share her ducky friend with the cat, and tried talking to her. the whole time, the cat miaowed and lia signed 'kitty, kitty, kitty'.

along with this, she's recognizing engine noises. so far she only differentiates between trains and everything else. so she signs 'train train' for trains, and 'plane plane' for everything else. she even just tries to chat sometimes. she'll sign whatever sign she can think of to see if we respond. i'm loving this communicativeness, even if it seems to happen most when i'm trying to put her to bed. i figure a little chatting never hurt anyone.
